Master Bathroom with Farmhouse Flare

Renovating a Master Bathroom with Farmhouse Flare

The Brief

Our client’s master bathroom was in need of a renovation, both for functional and decorative purposes. The space itself was built with an abundance of storage, which had forced the client to use pre-built storage that didn’t quite fit the space. On top of that, the style of the bathroom was not only outdated, but didn’t fit with the client’s own style, which favours patterns, geometric shapes, and the rustic farmhouse style. Our goal was to address both the functional and fashionable problems with a total renovation.

The Renovation

This renovation was exceptionally fun to put together, and it felt great to flex our design muscles by tastefully combining and balancing textures and patterns throughout the space. Shiplap was installed on the side wall, meeting with a wall of uniquely shaped tiles over the sink. The shower also contained an accent wall, featuring an elegant splash of colour with geometric shapes. The fixtures throughout the space were chosen to complement the creative space by following a rustic modern style.

The highlight of this rustic bathroom renovation was the custom double sink vanity. It featured a wall to wall linen cabinet, and was made of a light coloured natural oak, which tied together the bright whites of the walls, colours in the shower, and soft blue of the entrance. We chose oil rubbed bronze hardware to complement the floor tiles and create a pop of contrast against the wall. It was amazing how much larger this vanity made the bathroom feel.
